Sharlene Hector
Sharlene Hector has been one of the UK's top Soul, RnB and Pop vocalists for many years. She is well known for being a lead vocalist for British band Basement Jaxx. Sharlene has provided backing vocals for artists such as Alicia Keys, Muse, Emeli Sande, Sam Sparro, Primal Scream, Michael Ball & Alfie Boe, Lalah Hathaway, Tinie Tempah, Josh Groban and Michael Buble.
After almost 3 decades of an amazingly successful musical career, performing with the likes of Emeli Sandé, Alicia Keys, and Gregory Porter, Sharlene decided to take a foray into the land of musical theatre. It was something she’d always wanted to do, and the opportunity came after lockdown when she auditioned for the first time for a West End musical (Hairspray) and never looked back.
Sharlene is very proud to have performed in the West End in Standing At The Sky’s Edge, A Strange Loop, as well as nationally in Here & Now (The Steps Musical) and has now completed her 12 month run with Disney’s Hercules, portraying the role of Clio The Muse of History, at the prestigious Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
Sharlene is delighted to be back with Young Voices for their 2027 tour.
